Eastern Sugar & Industries Ltd (ESIL), a Public Limited Company
registered with the Registrar of Companies, Bihar, was established in the year 1964
under the name and style of Eastern Polymers Corporation Ltd, which was subsequently
changed to its present name. The Registered Office of ESIL is situated at Motihari,
East Champaran, Bihar – 845 401.
SHSIL is owned by Nopany Group, lead by Mr. B.K.Nopany, who is
67 and has more than 44 years’ experience in diverse fields like sugar, real estate
development, and investment apart from experience of handling matters of schools
of repute. He is also Chairman of the Board of a leading Academic Institution in
The Board of Directors along with a team of professionals manages the day-to-day
operations of the Company. The Non-Executive Directors are drawn from amongst persons
with experience in business, industry and finance. The Board of Directors has the
ideal composition with more than half the Directors being non-executive Directors.
The present paid-up capital of ESIL is Rs. 22.00 Crores. The Equity Shares of ESIL
are listed with The Bombay Stock Exchange.
Presently, the Company is mainly engaged mainly in the business of trading of Stores
Items, required by Sugar Mills, and Construction Rights. Apart from earning income
from trading activities, it has also started earning income from Block Usage
Charges from Shree Hanuman Sugar & Industries Ltd (SHSIL), in respect
of plant & machineries owned by it.
ESIL proposes to discontinue trading activities and diversify into the business
of construction and selling of residential houses. Mr. B. K. Nopany,
the group Chairman has long-term experience of real estate development. The proposed
construction activities are proposed to be financed entirely either out of internal
resources or advance from customers.
ESIL is in the process of setting-up of a Sugar Mill of 4000 TCD
in Bihar, at a project cost of about Rs. 160 crores. ESIL is also actively considering
undertaking of a new project of Alcohol, which will increase its level of operations
followed by improved profitability.
